Blockify Ad Blocker
has been updated to v1.6.5

Blockify now supports ad-blocking on all websites (including Spotify).

The update requires additional permissions to block ads, nuisances, distractions, & annoyances on all websites & audio/video content platforms.

What is this update about?

Generic, older-generation adblockers are not well equipped to block audio and video ads on content platforms, and this is where Blockify comes in. Blockify beats traditional adblockers by blocking audio and video ads (in addition to general website-level adblocking). Our core algorithm is (already) far more capable compared to other generic mainstream adblockers.

Why is the additional permission required?

The permission to block ads on all websites is required by all multi-website ad blockers. Apart from that, this permission is also required by our new & improved Spotify ad-blocking algorithm. Spotify serves its audio ads from multiple (CDN) servers, each with a different URL (akamaized.net, scdn.co, spotifycdn.com, amillionads.com, etc). Also, they keep rotating and adding new domains to serve audio ads. Now because they keep using different URLs to serve ads, we cannot practically keep asking users the access to the new domains (each & every time Spotify updates their server network); and hence this permission is required.
